A MATERIAL THAT LIVES
This leather was made to grow more beautiful with every touch, fold and year of use. Its surface records light, touch and daily life, so each sofa gradually develops its own patina, shades and character.
That is why no two pieces are exactly alike. Variations in tone and natural grain are not flaws to hide, but qualities of a material that ages with dignity.
FROM DRAWING TO THE FINAL STITCH
This sofa requires more than a good cutter or upholsterer. It takes designers, joiners, leather cutters, sewing specialists and upholsterers who understand how every decision carries into the next stage. Great depth, long seam lines, heavy leather and feather filling leave very little room for later correction.
In a 340 × 200 cm composition, every segment must carry its own load while the whole remains stable and precise. The supporting structure is therefore developed in solid wood, with reinforcement around joins, armrests and deep seats. Each element can be adapted to the room, but any dimensional change requires a fresh check of proportion and load capacity.
Highly resilient No-Sag sinuous springs in high-carbon steel and correctly tensioned webbing distribute load across the seat. Above them are zones of high-resilience HR foam at 45–55 kg/m³. Firmer layers stabilise, more elastic layers follow the body, and final softness is added only above them.
Every hide has its own stretch direction, pore pattern, natural marks and tonal variation. An experienced craftsperson first lays patterns across the whole hide, chooses the position of each panel, then cuts and matches the surfaces that will sit together. Stitch length, thread tension, piping and every join must align — a needle hole, once made, is permanent.
A generous quantity of feather is divided into separate chambers so the filling cannot migrate to one side. The feather top layer and richly filled back cushions create the deep, relaxed seating feel and natural folds that belong to this model. Feather does not carry the structure — it is the final, softest zone above the springs and HR foam.
Before the sofa leaves the workshop, we check the segment joins, piping consistency, seam direction, seat recovery after pressure, feather distribution and the way the leather behaves under light. On a piece like this, an error of a few millimetres can repeat across more than three metres, so the final decision belongs to craftspeople who understand the entire process.

MATERIALS AND COMFORT SYSTEM
A load-bearing base for a broad span, deep seats and daily use. Segments can be dimensioned separately, but every join remains part of one structural whole.
Highly resilient high-carbon-steel springs distribute load and allow the seat to respond without a hard impact against the base.
Different densities and levels of resilience create stable, transitional and comfort zones. Density is not the same as firmness; the layers are selected as a system.
Generous filling creates depth and a relaxed look, while separate chambers maintain even distribution and make daily cushion shaping easier.
Touch and folds change the surface tone. Instead of plastic uniformity, the leather develops shades and marks that make the piece recognisably yours.
Pattern placement, hide direction, long seams and filling quantity are judged by hand. That is why a piece like this cannot be rushed without sacrificing quality.
WHY IT IS DEMANDING TO MAKE
On a sofa of this scale the structure must remain stable, the seat resilient, the feather even and the long leather lines visually calm. Natural leather does not allow random cutting, while generous feather filling requires precise chambering. Its value therefore lies not only in the visible material, but in hours of decisions, matching, test assembly and inspection.
